EYO in rehearsal, Ealing November 2008 How To Join

Each Autumn, eyo has to say goodbye to members who are moving on to university, college or the world of work. This means that new players aged between 13-19 are always welcome to apply to join the orchestra in September of each year.

We'll consider you if you've reached Grade 6-7 for strings and Grade 6 for woodwind, brass and percussion although, because of the level of interest and competition from others, it is unusual for flautists and clarinettists below Grade 7 to be accepted. We get a great deal of interest and most sections are oversubscribed. We have players on our waiting list so it is unusual for new players to be able to join during the year although oboe, double bass, harp and tuba players are always welcome to apply and those interested should contact our chair, Julia Walport on 020 8788 9755 or email chair@eyo.org.uk.

New and existing players are auditioned each year. Please download the application form for 2010/2011.

The audition music used for string players this year can be downloaded from here for violin, viola, and cello.

Further information about the orchestra can be found in the Information Booklet and the EYO Policy for Safeguarding Children (PDFs).
