How To Join

Each Autumn, eyo has to say goodbye to members who are moving on to university, college or the world of work. This means that new players aged between 13-19 are always welcome to apply to join the orchestra in September of each year.
We'll consider you if you've reached Grade 6-7 for strings and Grade 6 for woodwind, brass and percussion. We get a great deal of interest and most sections are oversubscribed. We have players on our waiting list so it is unusual for new players to be able to join during the year although viola, double bass, harp and tuba players are always welcome to apply.
New and existing players are auditioned each year. The auditions for 2008/9 will take place on Saturday 6 September 2008. Successful new applicants will then be asked to audition within the orchestra for a few weeks.
