EYO/Martin James Bartlett/ECO on sale now!

Tickets are now available and selling fast for EYO’s eagerly awaited collaboration with rising piano star Martin James Bartlett and the English Chamber Orchestra in the 2017 Ealing Music and Film Festival on Friday February 10th at St Barnabas Church, Pitshanger Lane, Ealing, London W5 1QX. After sell-out successes in the previous two festivals EYO has chosen another epic and ambitious programme.

We are tremendously honoured and excited that Martin will be joining us as soloist in Tchaikovsky‘s monumental Piano Concerto No 1 in B flat minor, one of the truly great romantic virtuoso concertos. Martin won the BBC Young Musician competition in 2014, since when he has started to develop a major international career, including appearances at the BBC Proms and many other major festivals, even though he is still only nineteen.

The second half of the concert will also be devoted to a single work, Gustav Mahler‘s gigantic Symphony no 1 in D major, aptly nick-named “Titan”. Mahler wanted to encompass the whole world in his symphonies and this one is no exception. It calls for massive forces, including seven horns and two sets of timpani, and is bound to raise the roof. The wonderful final theme has already been making the hairs on the back of everyone’s necks stand on end in rehearsals and it looks set to be a hugely memorable occasion all round.

Tickets for this concert are on sale now at www.ealingmusicandfilmfestival.org

£20 adult, £16 senior citizens, £12 students 11-25, £8 under-11
