2018 EYO Concertothon judge announced

EYO is delighted that the Adjudicator for the 2018 EYO Concertothon on Sunday March 25th will be the violinist Kathryn Parry. Kathryn has a distinguished career as an orchestral, solo and chamber musician. She has played with many of the UK’s leading orchestras, including the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, City of London Sinfonia, Britten Sinfonia and London Mozart Players, and was a member of the London Philharmonic and Scottish Chamber Orchestras. In the arena of historical performance Kathryn is a member of the Gramophone Award winning, virtuoso string ensemble La Serenissima and string quartet The Revolutionary Drawing Room.

As it happens there is a chance to hear Kathryn playing with her wondefully-named quartet The Revolutionary Drawing Room next week:

A Viennese Quartet Party: String Quartets by Mozart, Haydn, Dittersdorf and Vanhal who all played quartets together in Vienna in 1784.  Featuring radio broadcaster Zeb Soanes reading extracts from the ‘Reminscences’ of Irish tenor Michael Kelly who was a guest at the party.
